Halloween pumpkin painting contest Sunday at Brookland’s Finest

“Brookland’s Finest is hosting a Halloween pumpkin painting contest on Sunday, October 30 on the restaurant patio. The contest will be split into three age groups: 5 years of age and below, 6-10 years old, and 10 years and above. All supplies, including the pumpkins, paint and paint brushes will be provided. At the end of the contest, judges from Brookland’s Finest will select a winning pumpkin from each age bracket, and prizes include items like a free meal and dessert, a coloring book and a Brookland’s Finest t-shirt. Throughout the contest, which will last from 3:30-5:30 p.m., happy hour ($4 Rail Drinks, $5 select drafts, $6 house red or white) will be provided for the parents and adults.

  • This seems as good a place as any to remind people who live nearby to VOTE! In case you haven’t heard, Carolyn Steptoe is running for ANC AGAIN. Whatever your feelings about Rayceen Woodland, she didn’t cost the city $60K defending her from a FOIA request after she tried to circumvent public meeting requirements and hide evidence that her constituents WANTED Brookland’s Finest to open, and attempt to destroy evidence in the process. I’d prefer to see someone more like a Joe Barrios run, but, given the choice on the ballot, we need to FIRMLY tell Steptoe to go pound sand.
