found-dog

“small, black male dog with a red collar found last night. He appears to be about 10 pounds and hasn’t been neutered. He is quiet, shy and gentle. I found him about 8 p.m. on 10/26/16 at the corner of 4th St. NW and Sheridan St. NW.”

  • What is with people in this city not spaying or neutering their pets? I have lived many places, but never before have I seen so many people walking non-neutered dogs. Is this not a rule? Anyway, I hope this dog finds his home, he looks so sad in that picture!

    • Sadly, the city doesn’t require spaying/neutering — it just charges a higher licensing fee (I think something like $65, vs. R$15) for unaltered dogs vs. altered ones.
      .
Really, the city ought to require spaying/neutering and make anyone who doesn’t want to do it have to fill out a request for an exemption.

      • I also wish that before people could pick up their lost dogs, they are required to show up with a collar and tags. The fact that the tags jingle or precious pumpkin doesn’t like to wear a collar is just dumb.

  • Saw him listed on Facebook. . . I let the friend of the person who lost him know. Evidently he was getting attacked and ran away the other night

    • Getting attacked by whom? Another dog? We walk our dog on that block frequently and would like to know if there is an aggressive dog nearby.

  • . . . different little black dog.

  • I saw a sign for a missing small black dog at Conn and Florida today. The sign said the dog had a microchip -so that should be checked.

  • Poor little guy. I saw some folks looking for a “little black dog” on Calvert in Adams Morgan a few nights ago. No idea if he could’ve made it up to Takoma in that time.

  • I got an email from my microchip company about a dog matching this description today. Name is “Kingsley” Call them at 1-888-Home-Again

His last known location was: WASHINGTON, DC 20008 LAST SEEN RUNNING WEST ON R ST. NW AWAY FROM CONNECTICUT AVE NW

Description was: “Very anxious and jittery Handle with care-if you see him do not touch hindquater”
