Update: Shooting Homicide near Cardozo High School on 11th Street just after Midnight

Update from MPD:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 2300 block of 11th Street, Northwest on Monday, September 12, 2016.

At approximately 12:26 am, members of the Third District responded to a call for a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. DC Fire and EMS personnel responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital. On Sunday, September 18, 2016, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 23-year-old Eric Garrett, of Northwest, DC.

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.”

“The Third District is currently investigating a shooting in the 2300 block of 11th Street NW. Motorists and Pedestrians should avoid the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call 202-727-9099.”
