From a press release:

“La Colombe will open its third Washington D.C.-area café on Saturday, October 1, in the historic Manhattan Laundry building, located at 1328-1348 Florida Ave NW. The leading coffee company, known for ethical, long-term trade practices with growers, is committed to a vision of bringing better coffee to more people.

The 1,200 square-foot café preserves the historic aesthetic and features of the space with exposed brick and high ceilings while focusing on customer flow and service. The new café creates a welcoming environment for the neighborhood to gather. The three-building Manhattan Laundry structure, which is on The National Register of Historic Places, originally housed the traction facility for a streetcar company. Later the structure became a printing plant and it was converted into a laundry in 1905. This industrial space attracted La Colombe, a company which has a passion for preserving raw and authentic buildings steeped in history.

“We are makers,” said JP Iberti, President and Co-Founder of La Colombe. “This café reflects that. The architecture and design of the café highlights our commitment to unique spaces and great customer service. It’s important for us to be the best hosts.”

The café is located among many other reputable businesses, including WeWork, Pizzeria Vetri, Diplomat and sweetgreen.

La Colombe offers a beverage menu of traditional and inventive coffee drinks, including the revolutionary Draft Latte©, which is served cold on tap. The Draft Latte comes directly from the mind of Todd Carmichael, La Colombe’s CEO and Co-Founder, who invented the process to create a beverage that is beautifully textured with frothed milk, cold-pressed espresso and no added sugar.

Founded under the belief that America deserves better coffee, La Colombe works directly with coffee farmers to source the best tasting, most exotic, and rarest beans, and roasts them to accentuate their natural flavors.

La Colombe Manhattan Laundry will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.”

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
