Construction at old Trohv space at Maple and Carroll Street, NW earlier this year

Ed. Note: One reader writes, “I think this is one of the spaces in the old Trohv building.” Another notes they’ll be near the new Starbucks.

From a press release (thanks to all who emailed):

CYCLED!, a boutique, indoor cycling studio, will be opening its second location at 6960-C Maple St, NW in the Takoma neighborhood of Washington, DC in late 2016.

The new studio will include 20 state-of-the art Keiser M3i Bikes with Bluetooth technology. Riders can view their personal performance statistics on their bike display monitors during class and the studio will also provide each rider with longitudinal performance data to help them meet and maintain their fitness, health, and athletic goals.

CYCLED! focuses on rhythm rides driven by various genres of music, from hip-hop to pop to reggae. Each class incorporates different styles of spinning, so that students can get a full body, high intensity workout.

In addition to ongoing support from the instructors and staff, the studio will also provide amenities like complimentary water, towels, and fruit to riders. Plus, a shower will be available to students for use before and after classes.

Owner and instructor, Dr. Shayla Cornick, brings her high energy and commitment to helping the community meet and maintain its fitness, health and athletic goals.

New studio is opening late 2016. In the meantime, students are encouraged to check out classes at CYCLED! Silver Spring, 1110 Ripley St. Silver Spring, MD.”

  • Well this is cool! Nice to have something different opening up in the neighborhood. I’ve never done spinning before but I’ll definitely try this place out when they open up.

  • Spin studios are the new cupcake.

  • First a Starbucks, now this? The yuppification keeps coming.

  • Boutique indoor cycling studio? What does that mean? I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT THE HELL THAT MEANS!

    • Hi there! It means that we are a little smaller than the larger studios that have 40+ riders in class. As a boutique, we are able to ensure that each rider has a safe and enjoyable experience. We can also offer special perks, like free water and fruit 🙂 Hope to see you in a class!

  • Starbucks is open and Big Bad Woof has moved in. I thought a framing shop was taking the last space so if that’s the case then just how big is this place going to be? Didn’t think there was any more room. Does “boutique” mean it will hold about four bikes and you have the coaches screaming right in your face while the music makes your ears bleed?

    • Hi, MK! We will have 20 bikes in the new space, which is absolutely perfect! While we love riding to great music, we promise your ears won’t bleed 🙂 Our instructors are also very friendly, so you won’t have to worry about anyone screaming in your face. We look forward to meeting you!

  • I go to the Cycled! In Silver Spring. Absolutely love it. Shayla and her instructors are wonderful. Excited for her expansion!

  • Awesome to see so many great places coming to our area! Can’t wait for Cycled to open (along with the new restaurant from the Northside Social guy). This is super cool! I haven’t been spinning in over a year, and I’d live to get back in the saddle. What is the price list?
