UPDATE: Arrest Made. 18 Year Old Shot and Killed 5:30pm near the Starburst Intersection

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced an arrest in a fatal shooting that occurred in the 700 block of 16th Street, Northeast on Tuesday, September 13, 2016.

At approximately 5:26 pm, members of the Fifth District responded to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, members located an adult male, unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to an area hospital, where all lifesaving efforts failed and he was pronounced dead.

The decedent has been identified as 18-year-old Tesean Jermaine Ashe, of Southeast, DC.

On Monday, October 3, 2016, in the 1900 block of D Street, Northeast, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested 41-year-old Antwan Horactio Buchanan, of Northeast, DC. Mr. Buchanan has been charged with Second Degree Felony Murder while Armed.”

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by text messaging 50411.”
