Great Garden Haul Vol. 46 – Brightwood Park

garden haul

“I grew these vegetables in Brightwood Park. This was my first year having a vegetable garden and I am pleasantly surprised with the harvest. I planted cantaloupe seeds from a cantaloupe I got at Yes! Organic and it is growing – can’t wait to have some late summer cantaloupe!”

Ed. Note: When your gardens start to get full of tomatoes, cucumbers, whatever you’re growing – send an email to [email protected] with Garden Haul in the title and please include the neighborhood where you grew it. Labor Day is the cut off to send yours in!

    Awesome haul – looks great!

  • I Dont Get It

Very nice although I admit I had to embiggen the picture on the left since at first glance I saw a lemon.

  • Nice! But how do you keep the squirrels and rats out? They ate every single tomato. Even the green ones 🙁

    • @Natalie – Pick the cherry tomatoes as soon as they start to turn, they will turn more red after picking. For the bigger ones, try putting plastic sandwich baggies over them with a few small holes in the bottom. This has worked pretty well for me.
