    What is this a recreation from? Did something similar/does something similar stand in Manhattan or somewhere?

      The building was originally the Manhattan Laundry. The part with the Deco facade was built in 1936 and judging from pictures I’ve seen, had some really stylish offices full of stainless steel and glass blocks. I wonder how much remains. The facade received a full restoration maybe 15 years ago, but it clearly hasn’t held up well.

      • It was most recently the home of the Inspired Teaching charter school before they moved to Edgewood. Most of the interior was torn out (or likely had already been torn out) to make it more usable as a school setting.
