  • Hard pass. The fire station on 14th uses Newton (with sirens blaring) to get to 16th Street.

    • They don’t use sirens on Newton, only on 14th. Plus, the ladder trucks aren’t small enough on Newton’s one driveable lane, so they rarely use it to get to 16th anyway.

      • I guess things have changed since I move from the corner of 16th and Newton about 4 years ago. The sirens night and day were the reason I moved.

  • Private dog park is a nice addition (if it applies to you), but that’s not an area where I’d want to live on the first floor with essentially a glass wall facing a parking lot. You’d never have those blinds open and might as well be renting a basement.

Also, it seems like the flooring is drastically different in the kitchen which screams “water damage” to me. Pure speculation though.

    • You are speculating. The photo of the kitchen is older, with the older floors — the entire unit now has gray floors. I will do my best to change the photo.

As for the windows, There is privacy fencing with the parking lot, so you really don’t see anyone at all, only a few cars that drive up the driveway. I keep the blinds open all the time and have no problems.

    • friends of mine lived there years ago (though not on the first floor) and definitely had water damage from a burst pipe or something. wouldnt be surprised if it trickled down.

      • When the building was first redeveloped in ’08 there was a pipe issue. It has since been resolved. There are no leaks or water damage in the unit.

      • Note that the listing says the kitchen floor has been replaced since the photo was taken.

  • Great building and community! And actually large dogs are allowed too.

The noise from the fire trucks really isn’t that noticeable, unless you have every window in the house open or something.

    • I should clarify… someone else in the building has a large dog. This particular unit owner may not want to allow large animals.
