  • lets see some convictions! great job MPD. balls in your court Judges.

    • More properly US Attorneys — I hope our Judges have zero interest in convicting people, only in ensuring fair trials.

      • +100 came to say the same thing!

        • so, dont want to get into a fight here, but a judge controls things like bail. there has been an extensive amount of ink spilled on the fact that judges in DC are lenient on bail and a lot of the folks who get shot, or do the shooting are folks who are currently on bail.

for example, house down the street from me got raided by the cops. they found guns and pcp in the house. kid they arrested was out on bail within a day.

          • There is no bail in DC. A judge decides whether a criminal defendant should be under supervised release (e.g., ankle bracelets) or held in jail pending trial. DC rules make it very difficult for judges to hold defendants in jail.

  • Good, thank you!

  • Hope someone has time and patience to follow up on this article, and see how many are back in business… 6 month, a year from now. Good job cops, btw!

  • NSID is the real deal Nice job!

  • This is Awkward

Happy to read this. I have to walk this stretch (on Park) every day and there are always a large band of creepy characters and obvious drug activity (in addition to the rampant sexual harassment, general harassment of nearly every passerby, and booze bottles/litter everywhere). Would love to be able to walk to/from home without going through all that!

    • yes, these guys were far from discreet. I’m a little discouraged that only two were arrested, however.

      • so funny that there is a police station RIGHT THERE too

        • @ParkViewneighbor: There is not a police station “RIGHT THERE”, the closest one is on the 700 block of Park Rd. However, there are police that are always standing right outside of Giant in plain sight

    • Oh man, this little spot is a gem for this sort of thing. I call it “Loco Park” because there is quite so often someone face down wasted at ANY HOUR OF THE DAY. I didn’t mean to start yelling, but accidentally hit CAPS and think it’s appropriate to leave as is.

Fish is a barrel for a police sting. Hmmm, Sting was also in The Police now that I think about it.

      (I’ll let myself out)

  • 16 year old with a gun??? Lovely.

  • A lot of drugs being consumed it seems

  • Ashy Oldlady

Is there any better name for a pot dealer than Charlie Smoke? I mean really, is there?

    • +100^2

I thought the exact same thing. Also, when did crack make a comeback. 10 cases in this article were crack related, including an crime allegedly committed by a 66 year old.

    • Tom

LOL you beat me to it

  • I feel so bad for the 1400 block of Park Rd – You have decent restaurants (Mi Cubano, Los Hermanos and Pho 14, for example) trying hard and putting out a good product yet their sidewalks are littered with pure trash – literally and figuratively. Why is it so hard clean up that block and get rid of the drug dealers?

  • They sure spend a lot of time–and my tax money–on drug busts. This dumb-ass drug war will ruin us all…

  • For 1400 block of Park Road tell the store owners to stop helping the dealers by concealing them in the store, allowing them to sell in and in front of their stores as well as refusing to assist.
