You, Ma’am, Are My Hero Vol. 7

IMG_4928

Been a minute since I had the opportunity to nominate another unsung hero. Can’t say I’ve seen someone take this shortcut before. Not sure the photos do it justice but that hill is really steep. This connects Rock Creek Parkway to Georgetown.

Ed. Note: I don’t literally think these folks are heroes along the lines of firefighters and emergency responders, apologies if that was not clear. You can see previous nominees here. Should you spot a quiet act of heroism along these lines please do send an email with a brief description and the neighborhood where it was witnessed to [email protected]

  • Her legs are gonna be itchy, usually lots of poison ivy….

    • I thought the same thing. I know the edges of those trails are full of poison ivy. I am assuming the hillside is as well.

  • Rave: That’s my garden haul of raspberries!
Rant: I think we’re failing to get mtpkiddo enough sleep. Time to start leaving earlier so we can get home & get the evening started earlier so she can get to bed earlier.
Rant: It’s going to be damn hard to start that right now with birthday excitement and pride parade, etc.
Rave: My little girl is turning 3! Her birthday shindig at school should be fun.
Rant: the inevitable meltdown when I leave to go back to work afterwards.
Rave: looking forward to pride parade tomorrow! Extra excited that Braden Holtby will be marching.

Andie and I climbed the hill from Beach Drive to Mt Pleasant after Brew at the Zoo. We were both quite drunk, it didn’t go well, and I had HORRIBLE poison ivy for like a month.

    • HA! I did the same thing last year, but thankfully escaped without the poison ivy. Did manage to face plant once though…

  • Leaves of three, let them be. Leaves of four….eat some more?
