Geoffrey, 11 month old Welsh Terrier, still Missing, Last Seen in Trinidad

geoffrey

Lots of folks have been inquiring so please continue to keep your eyes peeled:

Geoffrey, our 11mo old black & tan Welsh Terrier (mini Airedale) is STILL missing, since Wednesday, 5/11. He was last seen in NE DC, around the National Arboretum/Mt. Olivet/Bladensburg Road/Trinidad area. He is ~20 lbs and was wearing a red collar when he went missing. Geoffrey is really friendly, loves other dogs and we hope someone in NE will spot him, snap a picture, and let us know — at 757.968.0444 or 802.370.0851 and on Facebook @Bring Geoffrey Home so we can bring him home! Large reward, no questions asked.”

  • I’m sure the owners are just sick to their stomachs. We feel your pain and pray for a soon and safe return for the beloved and beautiful Geoffrey.

  • People need to stop this new trend of offering “large rewards” with no questions asked. It’s going to create a market for dog theft if there isn’t one already.

That being said I really hope they get him back. As Lisa said they are likely sick to their stomachs.

  • Poor pup might be scared and hiding in the arboretum. I live in the area and will keep my eyes open. I really hope he is found soon. This story really pulls on my heart strings.

    • I’ve been taking my pups to the arboretum on the weekends– I’ll bring some treats with me on the off change we spot him!

  • So is Geoffrey still being spotted running around DC? He is certainly resilient. I hope he comes home soon! Terriers are a handful, but probably my favorite dogs

    • It sounds like someone did spot him in the Trinidad area yesterday.

      • It’s always amazed me that a dog can be lost for weeks in a place as densely populated as DC. That’s good news that he’s been spotted recently though! I love (and own) terriers too.

  • I keep checking the FB page hoping to see that he’s found. This is really sad….little guy looks just like my pup too and is only a few months younger:(

  • Girl on a Hill

I grew up with a Welsh and my parents recently put down our beloved Airedale. They are amazing dogs, very bright and not lacking for personality! I’m sad Geoffrey is still missing, I will keep my eyes open.

  • I’m part of a running group that takes dogs from the Washington Humane Society to the Arboretum for exercise and socialization on the weekends. I passed this post along to the leaders, so there should be some dog-loving eyes looking out for Geoffrey in that area tomorrow.

I know him from the dog park (my pup is Arlo) and am really hoping that he gets home soon.

  • Taking my Westie up to the Arboretum now for a walk. I hope he is found soon!! I can’t stop thinking about him and what the owners are going through!
