Hallelujah – Movement at the old Heller’s space – liquor license for Bundle Bit, LLC

“Dear PoPville,

The Mt. Pleasant ANC is having a meeting at which they propose supporting a liquor license for Bundle Bit, LLC which is going to occupy the old Heller’s space. Do we know anything about them?”

Bundle Bit, LLC is registered to Nicholas Pimentel.  Back in July we learned that the folks from Paisley Fig bakery would be taking over the space.  As Pimentel is with Paisley Fig (and Bad Saint, Room 11 and others) – looks like those plans are moving forward.  I’m sure lots more info, including the proper name, will be coming out soon! If any9one goes to the ANC meeting please let us know what they say (and email me at [email protected]) thanks!

  • horrible name, though.

  • I wouldn’t assume there will be any movement soon. I’m pretty sure Nick Pimentel also has (had?) planned a space for the corner of Marion and P St. in Shaw — the red brick building, not the vacant lot. It went as far as seemingly positive presentation to the ANC a few years ago, but I don’t think there has been any progress made since then, and that’s sad because it would be a perfect place for a restaurant or cafe.

  • I want my doughnuts back : ^ (

  • The Mount Pleasant ANC hasn’t opposed a liquor license in many years, and isn’t going to start now. I think the commission will be happy to see someone move into that vacant Heller’s location, and start a business there.

There was a time when the Mount Pleasant ANC made life difficult for liquor licensees on Mount Pleasant Street. But that was long ago, and a completely different set of commissioners.

We have not yet seen the formal notice of application for a liquor license at the Heller’s location, so I don’t expect any action at the upcoming monthly meeting.

  • that place should have been re-opened (as a new concept) a year ago (landlord and tenant don’t seem to know operations). my guess it that it’ll be six months to a year from now before they launch. also, don’t be so quick to assume that mt. pleasant will just hand out (or allow) a liquor license (although that is basically requisite for a food establishment to succeed).

    • How much do you really know about this business?,and the neighborhood? Not much, it seems

How could it have been reopened (as a new concept) a year ago when the bakery closed just about a year ago? The landlord ran the bakery for many many years, tenant was there five plus years. I think they both know something about running a bakery
Mt P ANC is ready to support this business (when the matter comes before ANC)

      • lived here for 40 years. clearly that doesn’t qualify. oh well. and yes, I concede that the landlord and former tenant know LOTS about running a failed, out of business, moldy cake, and pest infested bakery.

      • silence. isn’t it beautiful. thanks and your welcome.

  • Yes! He’s part of Slim’s Diner too, so I’m sure they are a (bundle) bit over extended.
