“Chefs Erik Bruner-Yang and James Wozniuk are excited to welcome chef Deuki Hong (Kang Ho Dong Baekjeong, NYC) and writer Matt Rodbard (Contributing Editor at Food Republic) to Maketto for a one-night celebration of their new cookbook “Koreatown: A Cookbook” (Clarkson Potter, February 16, 2016 release date.) Joining them will be chefs Kristen Kish (“36 Hours” on Travel Channel, Top Chef, S10), Stephanie Cmar (Top Chef, S11), Cody Taylor and Jiyeon Lee (Heritage BBQ, ATL.) Guests will enjoy an epic Korean buffet created by the seven chefs, cocktails and beer thanks to James River Distillery and Tiger Beer, and a signed copy of “Koreantown: A Cookbook.” Tickets are $75 (inclusive of tax and gratuity.)

As authorities in the exploding Korean food movement, Deuki Hong and Matt Rodbard spent over two years traveling to Koreatowns all over the U.S. and abroad, researching and interviewing over 100 chefs and businesses. “Koreatown: A Cookbook” features nearly 100 recipes, essays and profiles of Korean food, drink, and culture, including a Kimchi White Chocolate Cookie recipe by chef Erik Bruner-Yang. 826DC is a local nonprofit that offers free writing programs, homework help, and publishing opportunities for DC students ages 6-18, in our Columbia Heights writing center and in learning spaces across the city.

Paddlestar Galactica helps keep writing education 100% free and accessible for all of our students! It’s also extremely fun.
