  • All joking asalad, much respect to those who are out there working today. Both first responders and service industry folks.

  • A Shepherd Park resident posted on their community listserve that a DCFD vehicle was stuck en route to a medical emergency in their neighborhood and requested the help of a resident to shovel a clear path for them to carry the patient. According to the posting, at the same time a truck with a plow was en route to Mayor Bowser’s house and became stuck on the same street. The resident noted that the truck became stuck because its blade was up and had not been plowing while on its way. Residents helped to dig the plow out. It would’ve been helpful to DCFD, the patient, and the residents in the neighborhood if the plow was actually clearing snow along its route to dig out the mayor’s residence.
