  • I didn’t see any knife.

  • It’s not really clear what’s happening here other than some sh*t talking. That said, I could really do without this Wendy’s.

    • That Wendy’s is terrible. They should tear it down and make it an Ethiopian restaurant.

      • Oh, yeah, lets add ANOTHER ethiopian restaurant and take out 50% of the Wendy’s in DC.

      • Whoever owns that franchase location is sitting on a pile of GOLD.

      • yeah, I live right near it. It is a shitshow every night. BURN IT TO THE GROUND!!!!

      • Eh, screw you pal. I like the Wendy’s there!

If you live in petworth and can’t deal with a little hood ratchet, me thinks you probably have the money to own a car so do yourself a favor and drive-thru or go somewhere else. Or learn how to be a grown up and deal with people that might not always be your phenotype of normal.

I would be happy with a vacant lot. However, they have a long term lease. (I was told they had a 99 year lease, although that was almost 20 years ago, so…)

    • Seriously. One night my wife and I had to wait 30 minutes in the fucking drive-thru. Had we any idea we would have just left, but by the time it dawned on us, we were trapped.

  • Is the knife wielder the guy on the left, by the door?

  • I wish that Wendy’s would go.

  • I’m craving nuggets

  • So did the recorder actually view a knife or was the “threat” of knife the story here? I’m lost.

    • Prince Of Petworth

there was a knife visible to OP.

      • I mean, I guess. Its just confusing to read a headline titled “man pulls a knife” then watch a video where you can’t see a man pulling a knife. Kind of makes you question the OP’s credibility/agenda….

    • I think it was someone who was half freaked out when they walked in the Wendy’s; it’s the kind of thing you just tune out if you have been anywhere outside of your comfort zone for more than 10 minutes.

  • Let me get this right, fella by the door is telling these kids off, (I assume there must have been some prior exchange of words) then he pulls out a knife, tells them to shut up and go to school.

Is this some sort of vigilante justice meets truancy enforcement? Admittedly i have never been there while Roosevelt was in session, is this a common hang out for kids cutting class? which makes me wonder if there is any truancy enforcement in DC generally?

    • I guess at 7:30 it wouldn’t have been skipping class but still curious if there is any truancy enforcement in DC.

      • When I lived in Columbia Heights, employees at the CVS on 14th/Irving would often tell kids they couldn’t come in the store if it was during school hours. Not technically enforcement, but they knew what was up and I applaud them for it.

    • I saw the truant officer on 14th once. She was asleep in the back seat.

  • Moved recently to the neighborhood and was psyched for Wendy’s. Then I went in, was second in line and 15 minutes later, still next in line. A mouse appeared, I though no biggie. Then an employee chased it, another customer stomped on it still dead and then the employee swept it up with a broom leaving a trail of bits and blood on the floor next to the counter. He then proceeded to continue sweeping other things in the restaurant with that same broom instead of throwing it out. I left, with no Frosty and now gag a little every time I walk by and want nuggets.

  • In most places in the US, threatening to stab someone is a serious crime. Here it’s just a hazard of going to Wendys. Pathetic.
