Good news for those taking advantage of the $1 per day parking at DCUSA during the snow emergency, which ends at 6:30pm tonight. From DC Department of General Services:

“Per councilmember Nadeau request, please continue to allow residents to park for the fee of $1 per day for (1) more business day due to the snow blocking street parking.”

  • I got a Crime Alert that an Establishment in the 3100 block of 14th St NW (this block) was robbed at 1357 hours. Any news?

  • I don’t drive, but I think it’s really cool that they’ve done this

  • I used this during the storm and it worked great. Yes, you had to go to the parking office with your ticket and ID to get the rate, but they were really friendly and quick. I paid $6 (got my car today) and didn’t have to worry about my car.

  • Seriously- I was so, so grateful for this parking offer. It took less than five minutes to check out and cost me five bucks- so much better than what it would have cost in time and effort to shovel out my car!

  • I think it is a great offer. My only question is why is everyone getting charged a different amount? I drove to the lot last night and paid $2 this morning.

    • It was $1 a day. So you dropped off your car yesterday and picked it up today, that;s 2 days and thus $2. If you had dropped it off a day earlier, it would be $3, etc..

  • They should just go on and make it $1/day for CH residents all the time because parking is terrible around there, in my experience.
