  • Looks like a pretty good deal to me! Great neighborhood. Of course, the nearby Seminary may be developed over the next few years which would change the neighborhood feel quite a bit.

Among the better deals I’ve seen listed on this site for somebody who does not travel to downtown DC daily via transit; still a decent deal for somebody who does.

    • I imagine there are many people in this neighborhood who travel downtown to DC daily via transit? What a weird thing to say.

I’m sure there are, too. I’d just rate it as slightly less good of a deal, but still a solid deal, if that characterizes the buyer. I live about the same distance away from a different metro. I walk to it every day and am cool with that, but most people in my neighborhood drive to work or drive to the metro and regard it as too far.

        • The home is also directly in front of the 80 bus, that goes through Chinatown, and downtown. So I too think it is a convenient for someone working downtown. Not everything has to be measured in terms of just the metro.

      • I think it would be more convenient for those that work downtown than for those of us that work further south.

    • I live nearby and commute downtown daily. Takes about 30 minutes.

  • That’s a fantastic deal. Very close to metro and Brookland amenities. Easy drive out to SS and other parts of MD. With prices to high in Brookland I would bet on Michigan Park as the first hot neighborhood of 2016.

    • Agreed but I doubt it will go for this low. I predict $425,000-ish

I agree with this. My comment above was not intended to dis the house or neighborhood. If I were on the market I’d probably make an offer on this, and I would expect to get outbid. My only intent was to temper enthusiasm regarding how fantastic of a deal it is. Michigan Ave is not my favorite place to walk (the sidewalk is narrow and close to the road, traffic volumes are considerable, and people drive insanely fast there), and the other alternatives are substantially longer.

  • Does anyone else have this problem with the real estate page where the thumbnails load, but the larger image doesn’t? I’m using Chrome.

    • Yes, happens to me sporadically. I also use Chrome.

Happens frequently for me as well. Sometimes the larger images load, but then the whole page refreshes for no reason and they won’t load the second time around.

  • I would guess about 500K for this house now the way things are going in the area. Down side: it looks like there is no off street parking, which shouldn’t be a problem even with more development nearby. Looks like about a 15 minute walk to metro.
