2nd Arrest Made in Shooting Homicide of AU Grad in Shaw this Summer

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch announced a second arrest has been made in the homicide which occurred in the 1700 block of 7th Street, Northwest on Saturday, August 15, 2015, at approximately 4:50 pm.

Members of the Third District responded to reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to an area hospital where all lifesaving efforts failed.

The decedent has been identified as 24-year-old Matthew Shlonsky, of Northeast, DC,

On Thursday, December 10, 2015, pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant, 19-year-old Andre Dudley of Northeast, DC was arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder while Armed in connection to the homicide of Mr. Shlonsky.”

  • Is anyone aware of a community impact statement being written and submitted for consideration during sentencing for these goons? That’s something that’s been recommended by prosecutors that we’ve heard from relating to crime on Capitol Hill.
