“thank you stranger for the 911 call”

“Dear PoPville,

I would like to thank the stranger who helped make a 911 call on V Street yesterday [Saturday]. I rushed out of my house around 6pm yesterday like a crazy lady not knowing what to do with my unresponsive 9month old baby and grabbed the first person I saw and asked him to dial 911. He was so helpful talking to the operator and waiting for help to come. I was so caught up in the moment and only realized much later when we were sitting in the ER that I forgot to ask for his name and thank him properly. Definitely the scariest halloween to date, but we are now all healthy and happy.”

  • Wow, I am so happy that everyone is ok after that scare. That random guy wins for hero of the day.

Glad to hear baby and you are okay! That is terrifying! Props to the stranger, and it sounds like props to the EMTs and hospital here too. Glad this had a happy ending!

  • As the dad of a 13 month old, I’m so happy things turned out okay. I’m sure it was a terrifying experience. I can’t even imagine. And I so happy for the kind random guy who helped out.

  • Wow, that sounds terrifying – I don’t know what I would do in the same situation if that were my baby. I’m glad you are all ok, and yes, a huge thank you to that stranger from me too!

  • I was walking by across the street when Fire and EMT arrived. Very glad to know everyone is OK.

  • This is especially nice to hear after all the rotten crime happening on V Street lately… glad it all went well.

  • I’m so glad to hear that everyone is okay. We could see this scene unfold from our house – not close enough to know what was really going on or lend any assistance (EMTs were already there), but close enough to tell that it was a very terrifying situation involving a young child. Random guy wins hero of the day (as do you, for reacting quickly and summonsing help in what turned out to be a very efficient way.) Yay, happy day on V street.

    Hey Neighbor
Glad to hear everything is okay. There are some real decent folks in our neighborhood

  • Glad to hear your baby is OK. Virtual hugs to your family and the Good Samaritan who helped out.

Yay humanity. As a dad who still gets random irrational panics about whether the 2 1/2 year old is ok, I can only imagine what that must have felt like, and I’m glad someone helped.
