DC Warm Baby Project Kick Off this Sunday

Thanks to a reader for passing on this great project to knit blankets for all the homeless babies at DC general:

“Sunday at 4:30pm
Off Road Indoor Cycling
905 U St NW

Join us kick off the project to provide handmade baby blankets to the 200+ babies living in DC General, the capital’s primary family shelter. You don’t need to know how to knit/crochet; we’ll show you and provide the yarn!”

  • Is this over the course of several days? Even an experienced knitter can’t knit a baby blanket in one afternoon. The ones I’ve done took anywhere from two weeks to a few months.

    • Nope! Sunday is just the kick off to provide yarn/supplies, discuss the project, and to show people how to knit or crochet if they are new to it. Blankets will be done over time this winter (at your own speed) and dropped off at the shelter in a batch at the end of January!
