CRISP Kitchen + Bar coming to former Costa Brava space in Bloomingdale

crisp
1837 1st Street, NW

Lots more details for the former Costa Brava space from an email:

“DCʼs Bloomingdale neighborhood will welcome its newest restaurant and bar establishment in the Fall of 2015. CRISP Kitchen + Bar (located at 1837 1st St NW) will feature classic diner and bar fare like Burgers, Hot Chicken, Poutine, House Made Pickles, along with a drink menu of classic and craft cocktails all priced $10 or less!

The newly designed restaurant/bar comes from native Washingtonian Jamie Hess (formerly of Ivy and Coney) with food selections curated by Chef Alex McCoy (formerly of Dukeʼs Grocery) and will be executed by Chef Akiem Brooker (also formerly of Dukeʼs Grocery).

The feel will be of an eatery with an unpretentious feel where customers feel a sense of the community and culture. In addition to handcrafted cocktails, the bar will feature specialty liquors, wines, beers in cans and on tap. We will have low-key soundtrack and two floors with the first for casual dining and the upstairs for sitting at the bar. Both floors offer outside seating/patios. The second floor will also include two
flat screen televisions and a video projection set-up.

“With CRISP, Iʼm excited to create a spot for great food, bar snacks, and cocktails without breaking the bank. The goal is to provide a fun, cozy space with great drinks, food, sports, music, good conversation, all with a mixture of super friendly customers and staff.” – Jamie Hess

We will open daily at 5pm M-F and 11am on S-S.
Happy hour is $5 cocktails/drinks/beers 7 days a week from 5pm – 8pm.”
