“Reconstruction of the Metrorail system will continue over the weekend of August 28-30 with service adjustments on five rail lines beginning at 10 p.m. Friday and continuing through system closing on Sunday.

This weekend, Green Line trains will operate at regular weekend intervals. Red Line trains will operate every 20 minutes. Orange, Silver, Blue and Yellow line trains will operate every 18 minutes with Yellow Line trains operating to Mt. Vernon Sq only.”

  • I don’t know about anyone else, but the constant discontinuation of the Yellow Line past Mt. Vernon is quite annoying. I’m not sure it will do much good, but I finally sent a message to Councilmember Todd about it. This seems to happen almost every weekend and in most cases seems unnecessary.

Has anyone else messaged CM Todd or others? If so, get much of a response?

  • You will notice metro doesn’t even bother anymore putting additional trains on the RL covering downtown and the branch (west this weekend) not impacted by the track maintenance…
IMO, it is clear that at some point, Metro will just shut down the system on the weekend to make the metro a commuters train system… ridiculous…
