  • wow security was really tracking him. that’s great surveillance. this guy is definitely busted.

    • You don’t understand how this works. The zooming and panning is done after the fact. The cameras don’t ‘track’ people in real time.

      • “Enhance!”

      • the camera panning when he’s going up the stairs is clearly being operated by a security guard who considers him suspicious. You can’t pan “after the fact.” The fact that all the images are in very clear, identically high resolution also indicates that there hasn’t been much (if any) zooming going on. Clearly this hotel has a security officer or some other staff monitoring these cameras in real time.

        • As I said, you don’t understand how this works. Or are you just trolling us?

        • You can pan “after the fact” by zooming in on certain parts of the video, which is what they did. If you look at the beginning of the video, you will see the time stamp in the upper left corner of the video. That moves out of view as they pan “after the fact”. If they had been panning “during the fact”, then the time stamp would have remained in view.

          • Thank you. I didn’t have the patience to explain how it actually works.

          • that’s not true – you can see the perspective change from :23 to :47 or so. I agree they are zooming too but someone was tracking him and moving the cameras.

You did know that security cameras that pan and tilt are available, didn’t you?

  • 1:45pm?! WTF?!?!?

  • Does anyone know the story behind this crime? I missed it this weekend.
