  • My favorite example of pop ups in the city

  • PoP, do you know of any architectural tours of DC? Like, where you could go to several neighborhoods to look at architecture emblematic of a particular style / era in D.C’s history and get some sort of understanding / backstory as to some of these wonderfully weird details? I looked into this idea a little while ago, but couldn’t find anything that really fit the bill. There seems to be a few guided tours of DC architecture, but they’re mostly looking at well-known landmarks like the Smithsonian museum buildings or the Capitol. I want to look at neighborhoods in addition to the big stuff.

    • DC Cultural Tourism offers walks a couple times a year (?). Last fall I took their walking tour of the architecture of LeDroit Park and it was really fascinating. I did a similar one of the Blagden Alley area two or three years ago. Look into those.
