    100% improvement. The pop up and a bit out actually made it fit in more. Just goes to show that these things can be done right.

  • the owner is an architect and had a wonderful vision that has finally come to fruition!! Hats off. it was a 2 unit converted back to single family and took a lot of hard work, time and of course, money.

  • Looks like a house now. From the original photo, I’m wondering if this building started its life as a house, or as a stable or other commercial building instead.

  • It helps significantly that the neighboring buildings had a range of heights and widths… there’s a big difference between popping up a building like this and popping up a rowhouse in a row of houses designed by the same architect to be the same height.

      This guy even added period-appropriate moulding to the house at the roof line. How often would a flipper do that?!? If only all pop-up’s could be this beautiful…..an owner-occupier can be trusted to do it right.

  • I’ve lived on this block for a year, and had no idea this was a pop up. Really fits in with the other houses in the neighborhood.

  • I agree but I don’t understand how this was allowed since it is in the CH historic district. Did they get an easement from the CHHD?

    You can do pop ups like that all day long. Let that serve notice to all others who want to do a pop up on how it should be done from an exterior appearance standpoint.
