Lovely house, that price seems like a steal.

  • If you’re okay with driving everywhere, that’s a lot of house for the money.

    • That’s about a 10-15 min walk to Brookland metro.

I wish there were a full-service grocery store (i.e., more than the YES!) within reasonable walking distance.

      • It’s a lot closer to 20 minutes to the Brookland metro than it is 10. I’ve done that walk and a brisk walker could maybe do it in 15. Even straight down Michigan, it’s nearly a mile. House looks quite lovely, though.

    • Or a 5 minute bus ride to Fort Totten.

  • The Master bedroom is fantastic, but I’m thinking you’re gonna have to plan for whatever kid has that tiny 3rd bedroom to move into the basement by the time they’re teens.

  • Really nice first floor, with walls and arches. A nice kitchen. Just needs wood floor in the converted porch off the dining room, and range hood over the stove. Upstairs needs to lose the carpeting. Maybe a little work in the backyard. A great house for someone in the market (alas, I am not yet.)

Drooling over house and yard. Wish the walk to the metro was a little more pleasant. As for location, I’m fine with the distance but don’t love walking down the narrow sidewalk on Michigan Ave with cars flying by at 40+ mph. If Michigan Ave were a little more chill, I’d seriously be interested in this.

  • Way under-priced unless it has some serious problems.

  • I want to comment on the fact that whoever did the updating DIDN’T knock down every single goll darn wall. Seriously the house feels updated but like a house should.

Love that about it too. If someone buys it and knocks down the walls, I am going to haunt them. Enough said.

      • I bought a detached one around the corner and knocked down all the walls on the first floor.
I was sad to see the arches go but love the open floor plan

    • Yup, very tastefully done. Love that it is updated without being ultra-modern.

    ooohhh Arches! love

  • Love it! Is it priced for a bidding war because it looks like a great deal to me.

    • +1. I’d put it at $585k.

      • Nice house, but in that location it’ll be 525 max. 500 is a good deal.

        • This is both larger and more updated (or both) than recent sales nearby, but is priced either about the same or even substantially less per square foot. And none of the three nearest comps had central air, which adds quite a bit to the PSF price. It is a little far from the Metro and doesn’t have stellar curb appeal, sure, but I don’t think there’s any way it goes for under $550k when you consider what you get for that money elsewhere in the area.
Given how many saves it has on Refin, we won’t have to wait too long to find out.

  • Beautiful space – this looks like a really good deal!!

  • I want to know what is hidden under the rug in the parking space.

  • If they rooms are next to each other maybe they can take a few feet from the master bedroom and enlarge that smaller bedroom. Either way, I think that house is a steal considering prices in other parts of close-in northeast and northwest.

    • I live a block over from this place so am very interested to see what it goes for. At the list price, it’s a steal. Great neighbors and area. Pretty quiet even with the hospital. The walk to the Brookland metro isn’t so bad. I can do it in about 15 min. Could also bus if lazy or it’s too hot/cold.
