Question for anybody in a converted rowhouse: How does renovating your unit “work” if the renovation would necessitate work in the other owner’s unit as well? E.g., I’d like this a lot more if I could add a half bath. I’m not sure how the plumbing here is laid out, but I imagine that would likely require some work down below (perhaps it wouldn’t, but whether it would or not isn’t my question). Is that sort of thing typically up to the respective owners to try to reach agreement on, or would it usually be explicitly prohibited in the condo bylaws?
