El Sol Restaurant & Tequileria post Liquor License Placard on 11th

1227 11th Street, NW

Back in April we saw the coming soon sign for a “A Real Mexican Restaurant Run by Real Mexicans Cooking in the Kitchen” at the former El Sauce space on 11th Street.

The liquor license placard says:

El Sol Restaurant & Tequileria

A full service-restaurant that will serve authentic Mexican cuisine. Total Occupancy Load of 30. Total of 25 seats inside premises. Sidewalk Café with seating for 10.”

I’m intrigued about the Tequileria part. Updates when they get closer to opening.

  • I wonder if this is related to the El Sol that used to be on 9th St several years ago??

  • A welcome addition if they will be more like El Rinconcito than El Sauce. But please please please no bass or loud music or noisy late night sidewalk cafe – this is a residential neighborhood. Learn from Tortino’s across the street – those guys have great food AND make great neighbors!

P.S. For anyone interested this will be up for discussion at the ANC ABRA meeting next Wednesday.

  • This is connected to the El Sol on 14th and Randolph which is actually better than the hipster overrun Habenero down the street. Trust.
