  • Wow – I hope one day the Petworth farmers market has enough business to be able to do this! We’re often out of town on the weekends or otherwise occupied on Saturdays, so this would be awesome.

  • Yay! More traffic in Columbia heights!

    Woo hoo!

you can buy your dinosaur kale while someone gets shot three blocks away!

  • I actually agree with the traffic comment. While I think it will be nice to have a farmers market midweek, I can only imagine basically shutting down Kenyon Ave, the main east west connection through CH during rush hour is going to be a cluster. All the vendors park take over the entire right lane on Sunday’s, and traffic doesn’t really get bad through there until noon, but this is going to be right in the middle of rush

    • Too bad for Maryland drivers driving through the neighborhood

      • Or ya know, those of us that live on Kenyon and have to drive to work. Glad you can get your fresh produce in the middle of the week at the expense of extending my already 1 hour commute home.

  • Traffic issues aside, I’m SO happy about this! I am decidedly not a morning person and usually can only drag my butt to the Saturday market once a month, and by the time I get there, it’s thronged. This is also going to be great for mid-week dinner inspiration!

  • Hey there,
Speaking as a member of the board of the market- there isn’t going to be a lane of traffic closed on the Wednesday market like there is the Saturday, as we have a smaller footprint for the Wednesday market and vendors will just be dropping off stuff at the plaza and parking elsewhere in otherwise designated parking spots.. So hopefully there won’t be traffic issues! 🙂

  • Thank you for adding Wednesdays, I pass by the Saturday one on the way to work but am always rushing so I never have time to peruse.
Today I spent a couple minutes checking it out and bought some more vegetables to plant in the backyard. Hopefully it’ll expand some but, no matter, I’ll check it out again next week.
