Scuttlebutt Confirmed: MacIntyre’s coming to Woodley Park

2621 Connecticut Avenue, NW

Back in January we shared some scuttlebutt that MacIntyre’s (an Irish bar) would be replacing Taste of India in Woodley Park. Eater DC now confirms:

“The team behind Maddy’s and Maddy’s Tap Room are looking to open Macintyre’s in Woodley Park this fall.”

They say there will be 14 beers on draft and seven 60 inch plasma televisions. Updates when they get closer to opening.

  • Cool. BTW I walked by the Uptown Tap House space in Cleveland Park the other day. Completely gutted and looks like a total renovation going on. Does anybody know what is planned?

  • I’m not familiar with Maddy’s, but this has to be an upgrade for the neighborhood.

    • I don’t know about the one downtown, but Maddy’s in Dupont is great. Good food, drinks, and terrific and experienced staff. I think this will be a solid addition.

  • Hopefully it’s good. That stretch in Woodly Park has some of the worst dining options in DC, with OpenCity being an exception.

    • All of those places subsit on walk in traffic from Marriott Omni guests and conference attendees. Unfortunately that pretty much dooms all of that stretch of Connecticut to crappy food and bars.

    • Scrillin

      Don’t you dare slander Medaterra.

    • Thankfully Cafe Sorriso and Afghan Grill are just around the corner, and District Kitchen and Mr. Chen’s across the street. For breakfast that isn;t jammed, Cafe Sorriso and District Kitchen do brunch all day on weekends.

    • Agreed, but Umi sushi is also quite good (if you stick to the sushi–the other food is terrible).

  • Woodley* thanks autocorrect

  • Didn’t realize this was still scuttlebutt or I would have confirmed at least two weeks ago. The coming soon sign has been up since then, so hopefully that means they’re at least two weeks into the transition.
