  • I took a double-take the other evening when I walked by and spotted the outdoor tables and planted flowers. Immediately felt more inviting than Black and Orange did (though I did occasionally eat there).

looks good! I went to black&orange once it was OK. Kinda weird vibe. These burgers are actually pretty reasonably priced too…ill have to check it out

  • That’s the exact same menu as Black and Orange… so, just a name change?

Apparently, just a rebranding (for the second time). When it first came out (and was called Rogue State), it was awesome, but the quality has gone down since the Steptoe lawsuit and expansion. Hopefully, they are going back to their roots with this rebrand. The truffle burger (“pardon my French” or something like that) was incredible.

  • That menu looks like a ransom note.

  • The planters like nice. The concept seems like the failed “corporate bar” concept that Bar Rescue tried to foist on PIratz (that’s not a complement).

I actually dislike the outdoor seating, since I have to walk by there pretty often. Combined with the construction overhang, it can get somewhat congested (I know, I know, it’s not the entire sidewalk). Maybe once the construction is done (hah), it’ll open up the rest of the walking area.

Since it’s so small and close to other pedestrians, it feels almost like people sitting there are ‘squatting’ on the sidewalk. Or maybe I’m the only one.

Smart of them to take the spot, though, and somewhat up their 14th Street cachet .

I drove by the other day only to discover the building next door had been razed. Anyone know what’s going in next door? Menu looks very similar to B&O which I found quite pleasant especially with the on tap beer.

  • Black and orange was terrible. Hard, overcooked hockey puck burgers. If the menu is the same likely same owners. I wish there was a Shake Shack there.

shake shack there would be amazing…surprised they haven’t looked into a U Street location

  • Crafted?
Do they even grind the meat themselves? I doubt they actually make anything. More like “assembled”.

  • Menu looks a bit yummy…never tried this place before even tho there are plenty of burger places in D.C.

  • This place looks like a money laundering scheme. Prediction, out of business, again by end of the summer.

  • The Mr. Pollo is fantastic. Seriously. If the restaurant only served that one thing, it would be worth it.
