“Are you aware of the Fare Increase at Car2Go?”

car2go_dc

“Dear PoPville,

car2go just released a “Membership Update” email that quietly and sneakily introduced a fare increase. Through the veil of lowering deductibles for drivers, they will charge a “Driver Protection Fee” in the amount of a flat $1 per ride. They snuck the fee increase into an email they probably know most people won’t read and then describe it as a benefit. It goes into effect on June 1, so most probably have not notice yet, but twitter and other social media has already started catching on and bashing it. $1 might not seem that bad, but for short rides less then 10 minutes (which is what I use it for most) it is a 25% rate increase. Even for a 20 minute ride that is a 12% jump.”

Updates to Member Agreements

Every day thousands of trips are safely taken in car2go vehicles. Whether you use car2go to commute to the office or for a night out on the town, we know that you count on us to help you get to where you’re going.

At car2go, we’re focused on helping people get from Point A to Point B in an easy, affordable, and safe way. With that in mind, we have updated our Terms and Conditions, Trip Processes, and Schedule of Fees to cut through the jargon and provide you with details about our policies in a simple and straightforward way. These updates will go into effect on June 1, 2015.

Our updated agreements now better reflect the services we provide, are easier to read, and provide you with additional clarity about our policies and your responsibilities as a member. Although we encourage you to read the updated agreements, we want to point out a new benefit to you—a lower deductible policy.

WHAT DOES THE LOWER DEDUCTIBLE MEAN FOR ME?

While we’re all about letting the good times roll, sometimes accidents or damage to the vehicle can happen along the way. However, we want you to know that car2go has your back by putting  your financial interests first, allowing you to use car2go with the peace of mind that if you are involved in an accident, your financial exposure will be limited. Simply put, you can focus on the things most important to you when using car2go – seeing family, friends, your favorite band, or local sports team.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Beginning June 1, 2015, each member’s deductible will be lowered from the current rate of $1,000 to $250. And starting June 1, 2015, if you take 91 or more trips by the end of 2015, your deductible will be $0 – yes, $0.  At the beginning of 2016, the trip count will reset to 0.

To provide this benefit to you, we will apply a $1 Driver Protection Fee to each car2gotrip you take, for up to 90 trips. If you take 91 trips or more, you pay no additional fee and again — your deductible is $0.

Our commitment to you as a car2go member continues to drive our focus in providing you with the best service possible.

More details about the changes can be found in the attached agreements, or by clicking HERE.

As always, if you have any questions, we encourage you to visit the FAQ HERE or contact us by e-mail at [email protected].

For many remote workers, a messy home is distracting.

You’re getting pulled into meetings, and your unread emails keep ticking up. But you can’t focus because pet hair tumbleweeds keep floating across the floor, your desk has a fine layer of dust and you keep your video off in meetings so no one sees the chaos behind you.

It’s no secret a dirty home is distracting and even adds stress to your life. And who has the energy to clean after work? That’s why it’s smart to enlist the help of professionals, like Well-Paid Maids.
