Pleasant Pops 2 Coming in June to former Potenza Wine Store Downtown

731 15th Street, NW via google maps

From an email:

“Pleasant Pops is thrilled to announce that we will be opening our second cafe this spring in Downtown DC. Located a quick block and a half from The White House, the new cafe will reflect the inviting and friendly nature we’ve developed at our current Adams’ Morgan location. Pleasant Pops Downtown will serve a full coffee menu (including our house-made chai, refreshing cold-brew iced coffee, and a range of drinks using beans from Ceremony Coffee Roasters), freshly baked morning pastries as well as our homemade ice pops! We’re excited to be situated on the ground floor of The Woodward Building at 731 15th St. NW. While we’re serving the tenants living above us, our neighboring office buildings and tourists checking out Obama’s digs, we look forward to becoming part of a new DC community! Set to open in June, Pleasant Pops Downtown will start your morning with a perfectly poured cappuccino and end your afternoon with a refreshing, healthy and delicious pop!”

  • Oddly, I’ve still not had one of these “Pleasant Pops”…even though I’ve been before. I seem to always walk away with yogurt, water or a banana forgetting they actually sell something different. That’s so crazy now that I’m writing this…something must be said for advertising your products better in store. Chick-fil-a always tells me exactly what they want me to buy.

    • I just tried one recently and they’re nothing to write home about. Good, but kinda small, and no different than homemade.

  • This is perfect–we need a Starbucks alternative desperately around here. The only thing I hope is that they keep decently late hours. WTF is around the corner but closes after lunch.

  • Wait, isn’t that currently the Woodward Table spot? Only been there once, but I was surprisingly happy with everything.

FTR, Potenza was fantastic and it is a damn shame that they’re gone. Delicious food for completely reasonable prices, good atmosphere (for downtown, at least!) and a top-notch wine list.

  • I was hoping they’d snap up the now empty Heller’s spot! Dang.
