  • Was it Lt. Dangle’s?

  • Maybe this will mean less time hanging out in Irving Wine and Spirits and more time doing their job riding around on patrol.

    • That doesn’t make any sense.

    • Yea then you’ll be the same one to turn around and say officers don’t talk to the people in the community or the store owners. You think if that officer was there last week that shooting would of happened at that same location? Some of you people on this site are annoying!

      • He’s right though. I drive by there quite a bit to see 2-3 cops just chilling on the corner in front of the liquor store. Maybe some of the vagrants in the area can ironically pester them and make them disperse.

        • Seriously, what’s up with the cops in Mount Pleasant. I rather have them hide in a back alley somewhere out of sight. All this police presence makes me feel unsafe. It was a much better when the drunks and drug dealers ran the street corners.

  • I’d like to take this moment to remind MPD to be aware of their surroundings and report ANYTHING that looks suspicious. They should avoid inviting crimes of opportunity by locking their bicycles with secure locks in secure locations. Also, I just don’t have the resources to deal with petty stuff like your missing bicycle.

    Whew, that felt good.

  • I hope MPD had it registered with a national bike registry so that if it is recovered, they can get it back to its rightful owner. They should probably search craigslist for it, maybe they can buy it back for $20.

For some twisted reason, I find this funny.

  • I encourage the MPD to contact Brianne Nadeau about this crime. She needs to be aware that these things are happening in her community.

  • Jesus. It’s sh*t like this that makes me love/hate living in Mt. P. But at this point, mostly hate…seriously, it’s really well past time to move. Between this, the idiocy going on with our joke of an ANC and the farmers market permit, and all the other crap, I’ve had it. This just isn’t a serious neighborhood. It’s stuck in some weird zone where it just can’t stop being half-assed about, well, nearly everything, and on top of that I don’t feel safe walking around at night. OK done venting…for now.

  • Cops never lock their bikes. I realize most people wouldn’t be so stupid as to steal a cop bike, but maybe they’ll remember to lock up next time.

    • When they get an emergency call for a burglary or robbery or assault, then everyone will be complaining that they didn’t get there in time because they spent an extra 30 seconds fumbling for keys to unlock the bike.
