  • Cute, basic house in a prime location. But at that price, I’m not sure who the market would be for this house. Way too expensive for a roommate situation (and only 1 bathroom!)
Even for a couple, this is a dumb amount to pay. I guess maybe a young couple with one kid might pay this while waiting to move somewhere more permanent? Even then, why flush that much money down the toilet?

    • What’s expensive to you and me isn’t so to quite a few others, especially in DC.

      • Yes, I know a handful of people in the foreign service and this is well within the budget for a couple, and maybe even a single person although not quite sure. It’s definitely a charming location. I work not far away and love walking down these streets.

        • +1 on the charming location. This is one of the prettiest parts of Georgetown, far enough from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to make it convenient.

      • I don’t know, that will get you a pretty decent mortgage in a much more convenient area in DC.

        • Many European expats won’t consider anyplace but Georgetown even if there are better deals elsewhere. Same with many of the lawyers that work in the area. It’s a niche neighborhood.

        • I completely agree with you in that I would personally much rather put this much money towards a mortgage, but hey, many are in DC on a contract (think IMF/World Bank folks), so it may not be prudent for them to buy.

Obviously it’s ideal for roommates to have their own bathroom but I’ve certainly lived where I had to share. Sure, for $1750 each sharing is probably not ideal, but this is also Georgetown

  • Adorable place and I am loving the pink and black tile in the bathroom.

    • Ummm, Joe, you know that’s green right? Are we gonna have another #TheDress scandal on our hands?

actually I think the TILES are white and black and the WALL is green.

      • Correct. They seem to have a pinkish hue due to the poor white balancing by the camera (or just blame it on the light).

  • Yes, I see the tiles as white.

  • This is a darling house, but the square footage is really minuscule. It’s a cute 2 br, but I agree with the OP Anon that it’s too small for roommates. It could be nice for a couple , maybe with a small child, if one or two of the people in the couple worked in Georgetown. I don’t think the price is crazy, given the market.

    • I lived in a house almost exactly like this one, with a roommate. Same size, same floorplan. It didn’t feel cramped at all. Then again, it was much cheaper than this; I would never spend $1750 to live with a roommate.

  • Really devoid of character. For this price and a historic looking place, it shouldn’t look like a generic rental inside.
