“Mayor Muriel Bowser will deploy the District Snow Team, starting at 6 am Sunday, March 1. The system is expected to move into the region sometime between 7 am and 9 am, bringing snow, freezing rain and sleet. Saturday’s overnight low of 19F means pavements will be below freezing and any precipitation will freeze on contact. The forecast indicates possibly a coating to an inch of snow, before transitioning to freezing rain and sleet Sunday afternoon, possibly ending after 8 pm-9pm. There could be some freezing drizzle overnight Sunday into Monday morning, which could affect the morning rush hour.”
