  • Great news. Lock em up and throw away the key.

  • That’s great MPD arrested their suspect so quickly–as a north petworth resident, I’m very pleased. I’m guessing MPD got help from the community, which we need to see more of, particularly given that 20-year old kids are being murdered in the neighborhood.

  • Hope this is the first of many arrests. Thanks MPD.
Remember, per the police, if you see ANYTHING suspicious, call 911 immediately.

  • Awesome news! But POPville, can we pls get a Brightwood Park tag? The homicide was not in North Petworth, which seems to be a term realtors use that does not correspond to an established neighborhood in DC.

Some of the details of the arrest affidavit as published in the Post are really worth reading: “Glenn R. Walker, who lives steps from Eighth and Jefferson streets where the shooting occurred, was charged Friday with first-degree murder…” and “Another witness said he was in the area to buy drugs and saw four people, including the man who was arrested, standing around the car when Adams was shot, according to the affidavit. That man told police he called 911, then went to the suspect’s house on Jefferson Street to buy drugs.” Awesome.
