“World’s Best Cream Puffs” coming to the District

1332 Wisconsin Ave, NW

Papa Beard’s website says:

“Known as the baker of the “World’s Best Cream Puffs,” Beard Papa’s has been a household name since 1999 when we opened the first cream puff shop in Osaka, Japan pumping out this unique French choux dough puffs to happy people everywhere. Since that time, our mission has remained unchanged – to pursue uncompromising quality in everything we do. By remaining steadfast in our quality commitment, Beard Papa’s has spawned a devout following of loyalists who will attest that once you taste our cream puffs, you will agree, they are like no other.”

You can see their products here. Coming to DC this Spring.

Also interesting to note this space is another froyo casualty…

  • This looks aaaaaaamazing!

  • Just in time for legalization!

  • These cream puffs are seriously heaven! Can’t believe I’ll be seeing them in DC! I get them during each NYC and San Francisco visit. Dangerous to have them now at home, but I’m thrilled. Soooo yummy!

  • Linc Park SE

Wasnt someone just asking about this last week? Well this is their lucky day

  • Oh wow. These truly are as good as they sound. And their tiny chocolate cakes are also amazing. Besides NY and SF, there’s also one in Faneuil Hall in Boston.
This would be a serious problem for my waistline if it weren’t coming to a neighborhood I rarely go to. Phew.

    • I had the same thought. Thank God it would be a major journey for me to get to these.

    • If I walk there and back, 5.6 miles each way, that’s over 800 calories burned! Maybe that would negate eating one?

      • I like the way you think.
When I lived in Glover Park and worked in Georgetown, if I walked to work I’d treat myself to a croissant from Patisserie Poupon. I’m sure that it negated any benefit I got from walking. But oh so delicious.

  • Really? I’m a fan of baked goods everywhere, but the photos on the website look dreadful. I’ll certainly give them a shot, though.

  • I used to live in Indonesia and they had a stand in the airport, the line would start forming about 30 minutes before it opened every morning. They are awesome.

  • Omg omg omg. I’ve missed the smell of beard papa!

  • Very curious to try these. Annoying that the location is in Georgetown, a neighborhood I usually avoid… but maybe it’s just as well, given the addictive properties of cream puffs.

  • Cream puff is the new cupcake?

  • The next food trend?? No more fro-yo, cupcakes are waning, doughnuts are at their high now…but their days are numbered now that cream puffs are here!

  • These are all over Asia. In the absence of proper baked goods, they were a nice substitute. I wouldn’t rate them worth the trek out to Georgetown.

  • OH HELL YEAH!!!! I remember these from when I lived in NYC!!!

  • palisades

Half a block away from Wingo’s too. All my food needs will be taken care of.

  • they were very popular in NYC for about 5 minutes and they closed most of their stores after a year, about 5 years ago. their competitors also came and went. . I’m guessing they’re struggling and looking for new customers.

  • Cream puffs! Is there anything they can’t do?
