so much pixelation going on here! looks like an 8-bit game!

So incredibly sketchy. Just strolling around the back waiting to make an exit? Seems planned.

It is amazing to me that the cameras in these places are so bad

  • How is it even remotely useful to have a security cam with images this bad? I guess if you’re monitoring the feeds you can keep tabs on things, but I doubt these feeds are monitored live.

    • They were forced by ABRA to add security cameras after an earlier incident. Presumably they just bought and installed the cheapest things available.

  • From what I can see they should be looking for Juwan Howard, Idris Elba, and E.T.

  • RE: pixelation… yes its, bad… but i think this video appears worse than it actually is since the police are trying to blur the images of all the people in the club that weren’t involved in the incident.

  • Wow, it looks like the McFadden’s bouncers allowed the perpetrator to escape. I assume they are the ones who open the security gate for him (he tried to do it on his own, but couldn’t figure it out or didn’t have the key to activate it). I guess this explains the shut down by the city. SHADY.

  • Maybe its a little too big brother, but large clubs should have higher res hidden cameras in at the entrances that capture everyone going into the place. Then when you look at footage like this you could go back to try and have a better idea of who you were looking for

  • I think a liquor license should be contingent upon an establishment buying and installing HIGH QUALITY camaras. These images are useless. Seriously, ABRA and the ANCs try to control everything else, they might as well insist on a certain level of video quality because that would actually be helpful.

  • Why can’t they just “enhance it” like they do on TV. It would be so much more useful. – bazinga

In Chicago, there is/was a club called Excalibur that attracted it’s share of riff-raff. The had a machine that would scan the ID of all the patrons going in. DC should push for that on venues after their first strike.

    • Yeah, just zoom in, wait an appropriate period of time for those pesky pixels to clear up into HD-quality video, and you’ve got your perps. Where’s Garcia when you need her?
