  • I noticed that Takoma Bistro was closed on New Years. Not unexpected, as this place was empty when all the other restaurants were teeming with life. This will definitely add more variety to the area.

    • Takoma Bistro’s last day was Sunday, December 28th–a fairly abrupt closing. Service could be spotty, the owners of this location were toxic and nasty to staff, and the food was alright but inconsistent. Looking forward to some variety in the Old Town Takoma area. Word on the street is that we’re getting a high-end hair salon where Shampoo currently is, too. I wonder how Salon Jam is going to handle that…
I’m thrilled about some of the development, and I’m eagerly anticipating the opening of Busboys and Poets. I can’t wait for Roscoe’s to shutter its doors as well (also suffers from bad food and spotty service, and I think had only stayed in business so long because of their roped-off outdoor patio and full bar, before Republic came in).

  • Aroi is one of our go-to and favorite restaurants in the neighborhood. I’m really happy for the folks in there. They must be doing well to be able to expand. Cheers to them!

  • Is Roscoe’s closing too?

  • I am so excited for this! Takoma Bistro was not good and I’m happy to have some more food options in the area.
