  • Looks like a nice apartment. Personally if I had 1.2M plus another 2k a month in condo fees it’s not what I would buy. That’s equivalent to about 1.5M in a house for those keeping track at home. You can get a lot for 1.5M in DC.

    • Well, it’s a coop, which means that the $2K feespays for property taxes as well. Still a lot of dough, but justifies at least $600 out of those $2K in fees.

    • People often make the “you can get a great house for that” argument. But a house is not for everyone. I really don’t think buyers considering luxury apartments are also considering luxury houses. As someone who owns a great house, there are many times I would trade it in for the right co-op or condo apartment in the right location.

  • Vessel sink OR baptismal font stolen from a Catholic church? You decide.

  • Might actually not be a bad investment if you can stand living through The Warf construction for the next 6 years.
Am I the only one who hates…HATES….spiral staircases?

I despise them, but that’s also because I have to live with one every day (luckily we also have a real staircase in the back, but it’s mainly used solely for moving large furniture). Everyone who comes over always says “wow, that’s so cool!” until they spend the night then try to walk down it while drunk.

    • I was going to post the same thing. $1.1M for a spiral staircase? I would kill myself dashing out the door when I’m late for work.

  • Too bad that Wharf project that they’re touting is going to completely block the view you’re paying $1.2M for.

    • The best part of the view is the Washington Monument. Pretty sure whatever they build at the Wharf won’t block that.

Utmost implies the greatest amount of luxury possible. This is definitely not that. In fact, I find a lot of it rather tacky and outdated.

  • I loathe spiral staircases. They should never serve as the main staircase in a home. Also, this apartment needs a lot of work. BUT, I think it would be a good investment for whomever had the patience.

  • Would it cost less if the “Wharf” was not in quotation marks?

  • There is an underlying mortgage which takes up some of that $2,000 month fee. Probably a good chunk of the $1.15 they are asking for it too.
