Beer and Welding Sandwich Shop Closes in Dupont

2024 P Street, NW

A reader reports:

“Beer & Welding sandwiches in Dupont is closed. I stopped by today, the Oasis Market guy said that they were “undergoing a change in management” or something to that effect and could re-open in a few months. It didn’t seem promising.”

Beer and Welding sandwich shop opened up in Oasis Market back in April with very positive reviews. Their last day was Jan. 22nd.

  • That’s a bummer, their sandwiches were fantastic.

Aw man…I finally got around to trying this place out when out pup was getting held for observation at the vet upstairs. My sammich was really good.

  • Really good sandwiches, including the breakfast sandwiches they put out occasionally. From the quality of the food alone, they deserved a better run than nine months in the back of a subterranean bodega.

My wife’s reaction: “That’s too bad. Doesn’t seem right…a great sandwich place can’t stay in business, yet Thomas Foolery keeps on trucking.”

legit sandwiches – really bummed. had some incredible bread too.

  • Weird I was just there on the 23rd and they didn’t appear to be stopping anything.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. They were the only place in DC with real baos. I’m talking to you Toki Underground and Copycat Co. WTF are these Bao Zis? Ain’t nobody want northern Chinese baos. Give me the real stuff!
