  • Look, the prostitution stings in Mt. Vernon Square and drug busts in Meridian Hill Park are great and all but this violent crime needs to be a priority for MPD. Shots are flying on the regular in this stretch.

  • That house ALWAYS has like six guys hanging out on the stoop at all times of the day. No one in the neighborhood knows who they are (which is highly unusual for this area, we all watch eachother’s backs)

I don’t blame the police, we have regular patrols there. You can’t exactly arrest guys for being on a stoop.

    • There has to be some way to obtain probable cause to at least search the house. Did you know the entire VICE squad was centralized so MPD 4 doesn’t even have their own vice unit? They have to submit a request to the central station to get a VICE unit in the area?

  • There was another shooting in the same area last Tuesday at about 10:45pm involving 12 shots fired. Or maybe they’re the same.

    • The shots from Tuesday were actually in the area of 8th and Jefferson, so not exactly the same area. With this neighborhood often being so block by block when it comes to crime levels, they are likely not related.
