Last week, Good Deal or Not Revisited (GDoN-R) looked at a small home in Old City #2 in Northwest DC. This week’s subject property is in NE, in Old City #1, and although on the smallish side, does have an unfinished basement that provides laundry space, as well as storage (which is super helpful when living in a small space).
The home last sold in 2008 for net $454,816. in what appears to be about the same condition that it is in now. For those who do not recall, the DC real estate market six years ago was in a very different place. Of course, since that timeframe, H Street has hit its stride, in addition to the market returning to a high demand cycle.
In 1998, this home was on the market for nearly a month and did not sell until the price was dropped to $149,000. At that time, it ultimately sold for $142,500.
The listing agent was James Dean with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PerFed Realty. Joe Mascio with Real Living at Home represented the buyer in this transaction.
