The weekend-long event will feature a 10,000 square-foot ice rink, an interactive art installation, a large-scale retail tent & food area showcasing a thoughtfully curated list of talented local designers, artists, food artisans, restaurants, and small businesses, with live and local musical performances.

PARCEL Market will be open during the following hours: Friday, December 12th, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm / Saturday, December 13th, 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm / Sunday, December 14th, 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

The husband and wife team behind the DC MEETMarket, artist Kelly Towles, and designer, Virginia Arrisueño, have partnered with The Capitol Riverfront Business Improvement District (BID) to create a new and exciting outdoor holiday market called, PARCEL. Together Towles and Arrisueño carefully curated a talented list of local retail brands, food artisans, DJs, designers and more to be showcased at the weekend-long market. In addition, Towles and Arrisueno partnered with local installation artist and stylist, Morgan Hungerford-West of Panda Head to produce contemporary handmade decor elements that will be installed throughout the event to enhance the festive celebration.

“With PARCEL, we strive to elevate and urbanize the concept of a holiday market event. By incorporating handmade, modern styling and showcasing emerging and independent brands, retailers, food producers, chefs, and local musical talents, PARCEL will create an overall festive and unparalleled experience for every type of market-goer,” says Arrisueño. “Our goal with this market is to make it a place where locals are excited to go to with their friends and family … As small business owners, DC residents, and parents ourselves, we’re proud to support and promote local businesses in the DC metro area ranging from designers to artists, musicians, and food vendors.”

Quality emerging labels will anchor each day of the market, including wares that span fashion (DeNada, Native Danger, MUTINY DC, Durkl, Kelly Towles), jewelry and accessories (Matine, Mallory Shelter, Woodrow Jewelry), pet accessories (Winthrop Clothing), home enhancements (Be Clean Shop, Pure Palette Scents), and gifts & prints (Typecase Industries, US Wood Toys, Petite Lucette). The food lounge will warm market-goers with seasonal fare including Bluejacket Brewerys craft beverages and sausages; Ice Cream Jubilee scoops and hot chocolate; Dirty South Deli sandwiches; Undone Chocolate craft chocolate bars; Teeny Pie pastries; Asian-infused dishes from Maketto, the new culinary project from Toki Underground’s Erik Bruner-Yang; and more. Live music at PARCEL Market will commence Friday evening with performances by DJs Basscamp and Rex Riot, and performances by favorite local DJs will continue throughout the weekend.

This event is free, open to the public and always family and pet-friendly.”
