While We Wait for the Armenian Genocide Museum – Dine DowntownDC

“Dear PoPville,

Any word on what’s going on here at the former bank at 14th and G?”

This is supposed to become the Armenian Genocide Museum. You can read a great history on the National Bank of Washington building on the corner here.

14th and G Street, NW from 2013

  • Thanks for this! I park across the street from the building and have been curious about its story.

  • I really love this building, i dont know why its just beautiful even abondoned

  • It’s been empty for 24 years now, and I bet it’ll be empty for at least 24 more before any sort of redevelopment occurs.

  • The Court of Appeals upheld the 2011 decision to keep the property in the hands of Cafesjian family foundation, which promised to make it a museum. That was in July 2014, so who knows when progress towards construction will happen.
