  • I knew the victim. He often came to eat dinner at a church where I used to volunteer. He struggled on and off with alcohol for the 7-8 years that I was acquainted with him. When he was sober, he’d attend religious services, help the Central American street vendors unload their trucks, and help people in whatever small ways he could. When he was off the wagon, he would stumble around and panhandle, but was never aggressive and never caused any trouble. He was a tiny little dude – about 5’2, 120 pounds max. People affectionately called him “El Caballo” (The Horse). Occasionally I’d see him get pulled into minor altercations instigated by others, usually thugs looking for a defenseless little guy to beat on, but I can’t imagine Inoe ever actively instigating anything himself. I can’t imagine why in the world somebody would stab him to death. RIP, Caballo.

  • How was the victim listed as living in Gaithersburg MD then when HaileUnlikely indicates that he was a regular in the area. In any case it is a shame, but props to the Cops for getting this POS off the streets. That area has a way to go lets hope this is the start of something special.

    • Allison

Might have been his last known permanent address, or the address of a friend he used.

      • Yes, this. He had people who he referred to as “family” in Montgomery County. I’m not sure if it was actually his family or just some people he stayed with. (His English was about on par with my Spanish – just enough to just barely get by if absolutely necessary). Most of our conversations were in awkward “Spanglish” and we usually settled for getting the gist of what one another was trying to say. Anyway, he spent most of his time in the Mount Pleasant / Columbia Heights neighborhood, but occasionally traveled, by bus, all the way out to Gaithersburg to stay with family (no easy task, try to travel from Columbia Heights to Gaithersburg by bus sometime). I suspect–but don’t honestly know for a fact–that he had a place to stay (whether with biological family or otherwise) in MD when he was sober but couldn’t go there when he had been drinking.

  • He was a nice loving person which his family loved .. he didnt deserve this at all .. yes he had a drinking problem but was calm never disrrespected anyone … rip
