Lots of Weekend Street Closures including Army Ten-Miler, Columbia Heights Day, Howard University 5k, Law Enforcement 5K, Taste of DC and IMF World Bank Events

“The Metropolitan Police Department wishes to advise the public that multiple events are scheduled to be held beginning Friday, October 10, 2014, through Monday, October 13, 2014. In order to facilitate these events there will be no vehicular traffic allowed along the routes. Motorists should expect delays during these events. Individuals who have issues to be resolved or questions regarding traffic access during these events should call (202) 727-9099.

The events and street closings are as follows:

IMF World Bank Events

On Friday, October 10, 2014, the following streets will be closed from 6:00 am to 12:00 pm.

C Street NW (between 17th Street and 18th Street NW)
D Street NW (between 17th Street NW and 18th Street NW)

On Friday, October 10, 2014 from 6:00 pm, through 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 12, 2014, the following streets will be closed:

19th Street NW (between Pennsylvania Avenue, NW and G Street NW)
H Street NW (between 18th Street NW and 19th Street NW)

Taste of DC

On Friday, October 10, 2014 thru Monday, October 13, 2014, the Taste of DC will take place in the District of Columbia. In conjunction with this event, there will be several street closures that motorists should take into consideration:

Festival Area

The assembly area for the festival:

Pennsylvania Ave NW between 9th to14th Street NW
10th Street NW between E Street & Constitution Ave NW
11th Street NW between E Street NW & Pennsylvania Ave NW
12th Street NW between E Street NW & Constitution Ave NW
13th Street NW between E Street NW & Pennsylvania Ave NW

Road closures will begin at 1900 hours on Friday, October 10th until Monday October 13th at 0200 hours.

The National Law Enforcement 5K Run\Walk to Remember

On Saturday, October 11, 2014, the NLEOMF Run/Walk to Remember will take place in the District of Columbia. In conjunction with this event, there will be several street closures that motorists should take into consideration:

On Saturday, October 11, 2014, the following streets will be closed from 4:00 am to 11:00 am.

F Street, NW from 4th Street, NW to 5th Street, NW

On Saturday, October 11, 2014, the following streets will be closed from 7:00 am to 10:00 am.

3rd Street, NW from H Street, NW to Virginia Avenue, SW
4th Street, NW from H Street, NW to Indiana Avenue, NW
4th Street, NW from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Virginia Avenue, NW
Indiana Avenue, NW from 5th Street, NW to 2nd Street, NW
Pennsylvania Avenue, NW from 6th Street, NW to 3rd Street, NW
Constitution Avenue, NW from 6th Street, NW to Louisiana Avenue, NW
Independence Avenue, SW from 7th Street, SW to Washington Avenue, SW
Maryland Avenue, SW from 6th Street, SW to 3rd Street, SW

Howard University 5k Community Run/Walk Race:

On Saturday, October 11, 2014, the Howard University 5k Community Run/Walk Race will take place in the District of Columbia. In conjunction with this event, there will be several street closures that motorists should take into consideration:

RACE ROUTE:

· W Street NW (between 4th and 6th Street NW)

· 6th Street NW (between W Street NW and Gresham Street NW)

· 5th Street NW (between Gresham Street NW and Howard Place NW)

· 4th Street NW (between Howard Place NW and W Street NW)

Columbia Heights Day Neighborhood Festival

The Metropolitan Police Department would like to advise the public and members of the media of the following street closures in connection with the Columbia Heights Day Neighborhood Festival scheduled for Saturday, October 11, 2014.

The proceeding streets will be closed beginning approximately at 7:00 am and should reopen by 8:00 pm. The festival hours will be 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The following streets will be closed:

11th Street from Park Road to Kenyon Street, NW
Lamont Street from 12th Street to Sherman Avenue, NW

Army Ten-Miler

The Metropolitan Police Department would like to advise the public and members of the media of the following street closures in connection with the Army Ten-Miler scheduled for Sunday, October 12, 2014.

The proceeding streets will be intermittently closed along the race route beginning approximately at 7:30 am and should reopen by 12:00 pm.

The race route is to originate along Washington Boulevard (Route 27) in Arlington, Virginia and progress across the Arlington Memorial Bridge into the District of Columbia. Once in the District of Columbia, runners are to take the following route, prior to its conclusion in Arlington, Virginia:

Parade Route

· Crossing the Arlington Memorial Bridge around Lincoln Circle to Henry Bacon Drive
· East on Constitution Avenue, NW
· North on 19th Street, NW
· West on Virginia Avenue, NW
· South on Rock Creek Parkway, NW to Ohio Drive, SW
· East on Independence Avenue, SW (runners will take the Westbound side)
· South on 7th Street SW
· Right on Maryland Avenue SW
· Right on 9th Street SW

West on Independence Avenue, SW (runners will stay on the left side)
South on 14th Street, NW to Interstate 395
