Nice, but uninspiring in every way except the facade.

  • For that price, I’d want more bang in the kitchen. The building cabinetry in the living room (?) is a bonus but I’m kind of underwhelmed.

  • I really wanted to like this place but it’s just blah. I know paint color can change but it just seems boring. Hate that stupid sink in the half bath.

The beige, why so much beige?! Creamy beige…

  • Surprised by the tiny kitchen. Its size is out of proportion to the rest of the space, i.e. kitchen could have easily been expanded without losing vital space on the rest of the floor. The person who designed this clearly wasn’t into cooking/dining/hosting. Anyway, overall it’s a very pretty place.

  • super ugly for that kind of $$

  • but oh lordy, that facade…

  • Nothing “period” about the place except the exterior. When I see “period” in the description I expect to see some original character still intact. The inside is certainly not sophisticated. If anything, it’s more mainstream and boring.

    Great location though.

Blank slate. Nothing stands out as good or bad. Completely forgettable. Even the outside is boring with that awful color.

  • boring boring boring, just another “upgrade” using low grade finishes and hoping some idiot will buy their overpriced piece of junk…$903 a sq. ft.? that’s absurd – – I would be surprised if it gets appraised anywhere near that #

  • Since there is a lot of love for the facade here, I’ll tell you that 1711-31 Riggs Place were built in 1892 by Thomas Franklin (aka TF, aka T Franklin) Schneider. IMO his work, such as The Cairo, The Iowa, and the 1700 block of Q Street NW, is head-and-shoulders above other developers/architects (he was both) in DC, even at a time when so many awesome buildings were being built.

  • Ugh, they gutted the soul from that house and replaced it with cheap, uninspired touches. That media room behind the kitchen? Awful, awful. Looks very suburban. What a dreadful, tragic destruction of a beautiful piece of architecture.
